Historic and current fuel costs
30-Jun-2008 News
With the recent rises in fuel prices people are asking “How much do I spend on petrol now compared to a year ago?” Now you can find out. Here is an example for a Honda Legend 2006. Under the odometer history section we show the estimated daily, weekly, monthly and yearly fuel bill based on the latest mileage of the car.Don’t forget to come back every week to update yourself on the latest figures as these prices just keep going up and up. The fuel prices are updated every week to give you the most realistic picture.Unfortunately we are only able to provide this information for vehicles built after 2000.
Is the value shown, is that the now charge,if so what’s it going down too
Hi there, What’s the plate?
Hi. I have bought a Subaru Forester which is deregistered(lapse rego) currently but Iam planning to put back on road. When I bought the car, the owner gave me writing that no money is owing on the car, but when I bought car jam report it showed one interested party under the security interest. So one out there can help me what are my options. I don’t want to wreck the car but I guess that is the last option. I was under the impression that if a car is deregistered, money owing wont matter. Thanks
The registration status and money owing are two independent things. What’s the rego of the vehicle?
Hi there, hoping someone can help…we have a 1977 Landrover rego IG1375, sometime before 1992 it was repowered with a diesel engine, My father inlaw purchased as a diesel in 1992 and the dealer who sold it to him confirmed that they did not convert it to diesel, so one of the two owners before that must have been responsible for it.
We are trying to get it warranted at the moment, but it doesn’t have a certification plate( as as far as we are aware) as it was not required to be certified back then, so we are being told that unless we can prove the that it was diesel powered prior to 1992 we have to get it certified (for an engine that was installed 23 plus years ago) to get it re warranted, it always got a warrant as it was until last year :-/.
Is there any way we can search back pre 1994 ( the earliest LTSA records go) so see when the registration changed from Petrol to Diesel??
Hi there, yeah quite a story. I think the best for you is to ring NZTA and see if they can help. As far as we know many older records did not make it into the Motor Vehicle Register in early 90s. Thank you, CarJam
Thanks Anton, I did call them, they say their records don’t go back any further than 1994. however the car jam report on it shows 3 owners prior to that so surely there must be some records hidden away on a database somewhere…
It is likely the older ownership data was transferred but not the vehicle data. Any advise they gave you what can be done?
Unfortunately they told me they couldn’t help me further! Somewhere along the way there must be a record of when the registration changed from petrol powered to a diesel powered vehicle. I just can’t see how there isn’t a database for these things, I know that the 90’s was the era of the floopy disk, so there must be a records somewhere if the carjam database can pick it up.
With we could help. CarJam collates data from various databases. The data you refer to comes from NZTA and if they cannot find it electronically we are powerless too. Unless you can provide them with old paperwork etc. But sounds like no longer have it.
Hi ,
I want to create a test account to use Car Jam Api.
But when ever I tried to open up this URL http://test.carjam.co.nz/ it prompt with username and password.
After submitting my Username and password(Usename and password same as for CarJam live site) it again prompt me with username and password.
I can’t understand whats going on.
Maybe I am doing something wrong.
Can someone please advise How to create a test account in car jam to user car jam API.
Thanks
Hi A1 Cars, Yes we had to also protect the test site with site-wide password. Some consumers mistakenly used it as a real site! Use user:test pwd:test to get to the site.
Hi I am developing a application in which i just want the basic vehicle details to be available after they enter there rego no. so wanting to use the carjam api. So i wanted to now whats the cost and process involved .
Hi there, Could you please email us on info@carjam.co.nz with the details of your application? Thank you, Anton
Hi. I would like to know which username and password should be given on http://test.carjam.co.nz/me/developer/
to enter into the development website as the username and password used during registration is not working.
Hi Shouvik, Please email us to info@carjam.co.nz with your inquiry and we will sort it out. We need to understand what you are trying to do first. Cheers, Anton
You need to bring back the feature to update stale reports. I dont need to see a report from 2 years ago. Or pay $12 when you only need to spend 16c to refresh the data, 16c i would pay, no more no way. looking for an alternative. you killed this site.
Get an account with CarJam and then you can update basic data for 20c (incl GST). We would have never started charging for basic data. But the government had something else on their mind. Sorry, we are no longer willing to go back into the negativity zone. Fought too much with the government over this.
