Campbell Live: First-time car owner shocked by repo visit
Check out this story of one young guy's bad luck buying a car without getting a "registered debt/money owing" report from Carjam (Campbell Live Tuesday 12th July): "Buying your first car can be a mixed experience. Getting the money together, not buying a lemon, finding the car that feels right for you. We talked to a young man who thought he had got it right, a good price for the car he wanted. And then the repo man turned up."

Well we might not have made it to the big news just yet but NZ's foremost IT publication, Computerworld covered CarJam with a nice story "Motorheads flock to CarJam site as start-up takes off — Vehicle information site has two million page views in first six months" (shame about the ugly blokes in the picture).
Is the year shown in reports reliable as year of manufacture?
For motor vehicles registered before 1 January 2007 "vehicle year" means the year of manufacture or the model year or the year of first registration. For vehicles registered on or after 1 January 2007 "vehicle year" means year of first registration.
